Erin's Grad

On Friday, we had the chance to take Erin's grad pictures. Lots of her friends came over for pictures and everyone was decked out and ready for their night. Erin's date Travis, brought over his dad's Camaro and it was amazing. We had a lot of fun being around all of the chaos of getting ready for grad and we're glad that we could capture a bit of what grad is all about. It's about moving on to the next phase of your life as you remember the times and events that have brought you to where you are. But most importantly, it's about celebrating that milestone with the ones that mean the most to you. Congratulations Erin, enjoy the rest of your grad 12 year and best wishes in the future.

Carly and Andrew E-session

On Sunday afternoon, Dayna and I headed to downtown Regina for Carly Straker and Andrew Tucker's engagement session. Carly and Tuck are two of my closest friends and we had so much fun running around the sidewalks and alleys of Regina. It is obvious that Carly and Tuck are an awesome team if you spend any amount of time with them. They compliment each other in so many ways and we are excited for their wedding later this year. We feel so blessed to have such good friends. Thank you guys for an amazing afternoon, it was a blast! Enjoy the images Dayna and I took!

Homecoming Weekend (Day 2, Saturday)

On Saturday morning, everybody met a Smitty's for breakfast and again had a lot of fun. Smitty's was the location of choice when we were all living in Dauphin, Manitoba. Nothing beats a good 'ol cup of water-downed Smitty's coffee. Well maybe steak and eggs beats the coffee, but I had both just to make sure I was getting the full experience. We eneded up sticking around Smitty's for a quite a while, talking about any and everything, probably to the point on annoyance for some of the restraunt staff because we were taking up quite a bit of room. Oh well, that's usually how it went in Dauphin too.

After breakfast, Dayna, Cole (my brother), Andrew, Carly and I went to did some shopping. The girls went to look for a wedding dress for Carly, and us guys went and got Cole fitted for suit. After that we went and picked up the girls, dropped Cole off at home, and went to our class supper at the school.

After the supper there was a program in the main auditorium, where among other things, Mr and Ms WCHS and WCC Alumnus of Year are announced. For those of you not familiar with this honour, Mr and Ms WCHS is a peer and staffed voted award, that honours a male and female student who exemplify what a model student looks like. As usual the candidates were all outstanding individuals and all represented what the model student should strive for. As with most awards only two people could be chosen, and I can proudly say that the honour of Ms WCHS was given to my cousin Milessa Peterson. Very cool and very deserving!

After the program there was the annual Alumni Chorus singing were anyone who attended Western can come to the stage in the auditorium and sing. It is always a real awesome experience as the stage is always packed and it always feels like there are more poeple on the stage than in the crowd.

Later on in the evening everyone from our class headed over to Colleen's house for our class party. Lots of good memories were shared and some incredible photos from high school were shared. All in all it was an awesome weekend and I didn't end of getting to bed until 3:00 am Sunday morning. Good times :)…

Homecoming Weekend (Day 1, Friday)

This past weekend, I had the chance to attend my five-year high school reunion in Regina, Saskatchewan. I left bright and early on Friday morning for Edmonton where I met my buddy Andrew. Andrew and I met in grade 11 at Western Christian College (WCC) and he has been my brother ever since. Andrew recently graduated from Depot and is now serving as an RCMP officer in Stony Plain, Albeta. He is also engaged to one of my best friends Carly (stayed tuned for Andrew and Carly's engagement shots). As you can imagine I can't say enough good stuff about this guy. Anyways, we loaded up his 4-runner, got some breakfast and headed for Regina for our reunion.

Once we got to Regina, we met up with Dayna and Carly, and there was a short program including a presentation by a group of WCC Alumni, a presentation by a drama group and some speeches by some of the students that attend WCC. One of the best parts about Homecoming is all of the people that can be seen. I have never been to a Homecoming where I didn't see a ton of cousins or at least a ton of people that, either went to school with my parents or went to school with my grandparents. It is a really cool experience. I will do a blog post someday and show everybody how much I look like my grandpa when he was my age. No matter who I meet at Homecoming, everybody knows that I am a Peterson just by looking at me. It makes me proud for sure.

After the program all of my classmates got together for some food at a Kelsey's restaurant. It was so good to catch up with everybody and of course laugh about the "good 'ol days" at WCC. I hadn't seen some of my class since we graduated so it was exciting to hear about how their lives had changed for the good and the bad since graduating. Some were married, some were pregnant, some had kids, some had graduated from University, but all-in-all it was the same fun group I remembered sharing my life with only 5 years prior. When our class graduated there was less than 20 of us so we were a pretty tight group. After many stories and laughs everybody went there way for the night and planned to meet for breakfast the next morning. Such an awesome day!

Below are some images from Friday's events.
